About the Role

Inc Consulting are delighted to be partnering with a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Strategic Senior Buyer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic environment where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping procurement strategy and driving measurable value across the business.

Key Responsibilities

Lead procurement strategy across direct materials and key strategic indirect categories.
Deliver cost savings, value engineering, and continuous improvement that positively impact financial performance.
Negotiate and manage strategic supplier relationships, securing the strongest commercial outcomes.
Own strategic sourcing, supplier governance, contractual oversight, and risk management.
Work collaboratively with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams to align procurement with operational and financial objectives.
Operate effectively in a highly KPI‑driven, performance‑led environment, with tight governance, regular cadence reviews, and focus on measurable outputs—while driving decisions in a product‑focused, direct‑materials, specification‑driven environment.

Person Specification

Significant procurement or supply‑chain experience within manufacturing, with depth of expertise over years served.
Proven ability to manage both direct materials and strategic indirect categories, ideally in complex or regulated sectors.
A proactive, confident, results‑driven individual who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑accountability environments.
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience operating at senior leadership or board level.
A track record as a Strategic Senior Buyer, delivering measurable savings and value improvements.
Essential: Demonstrated success working in KPI‑heavy, tightly governed environments and in highly product‑focused, direct‑materials categories involving close collaboration with manufacturing and materials teams.

What’s on Offer

This is a fully site-based role with some travel required, offering a competitive starting salary of £57,000 plus the chance to make a real impact in a high-profile position. You’ll join a business where your expertise is valued and your contribution visible at all levels, including senior leadership and the board. You’ll be highly visible within the business, working closely with senior leadership and making a tangible impact on performance and profitability.
