About the Role

Inc. Consulting is excited to partner with an established building products business to recruit a permanent Supply Chain Manager at their Doncaster site.

This is a hands-on, varied role with responsibility for managing the full production planning process, warehouse team, working closely with site managers and estimators, and supporting the board in improving operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will manage suppliers, including dual sourcing, monitoring sales trends, and maintaining accurate stock levels. The focus will include day-to-day supply chain operations, as well as shaping processes and building a strong operational management layer between the board and the operations teams. You will streamline and automate processes, identify quick wins, and implement improvements to optimise efficiency across operations.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance of the production planner and ensure all production paperwork is complete.
  • Purchase materials and components from suppliers, including dual sourcing, monitoring trends, and optimising stock levels.
  • Oversee stock control, including goods-in, Sage stock receipts, packaging control, WIP management.
  • Manage the warehouse team and a Supply Chain Administrator, as well as supporting operational staff on site, including managers and installers.
  • Review, streamline, and modernise processes and procedures, identifying inefficiencies and implementing improvements.
  • Support the board with operational insight while managing day-to-day activities on site.
  • Drive continuous improvement, enhancing communication and processes between operational teams and senior leadership.
  • Process customer orders, confirming details and ensuring smooth production and delivery schedules.
  • Distribute stock sheets, scan delivery notes into the system, maintain compliance documentation, and manage ad-hoc administrative tasks.
  • Ad-hoc operations management including carrying out vehicle inspections, machine maintenance, organising skip hire, and other operational site tasks as required.
  • Coordinate sprayed items, organise deliveries, and manage operational closing-up procedures.

 

Person Specification

  • Experience in supply chain and general operations management in the building services or an adjacent industry (essential).
  • Commercial, robust, resilient, and able to communicate effectively with both the board and frontline teams.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on and proactive, with a focus on efficiency, process improvement, and team management.
  • Comfortable working autonomously and managing multiple priorities.
