About the Role

Inc Consulting is delighted to be partnering with a successful manufacturing business that prides itself on its culture, based in Sheffield as they look to recruit an Account Director to join their commercial team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation in a newly created role.

The Account Director will play a key role in managing strategic customer relationships, driving sales performance, and identifying new business opportunities, while ensuring an exceptional level of service is delivered across all accounts.

The role combines client relationship management, sales development and strategic account leadership, offering the opportunity to make a real commercial impact within a collaborative and ambitious team.

Role Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts, responding promptly to enquiries and maintaining regular communication.
  • Provide updates to customers regarding orders, deliveries and ongoing projects, ensuring excellent service delivery.
  • Manage customer concerns or issues and coordinate appropriate solutions internally.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, proactively engaging with clients to strengthen partnerships.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes and proposals to support business development activity.
  • Identify and deliver upselling and cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Develop new sales opportunities with both existing customers and prospective clients.
  • Maintain and manage the sales pipeline within the CRM/ERP system.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and sales forecasting, providing insights into performance and growth opportunities.
  • Gather market and customer insights to inform commercial strategy and future growth initiatives.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience in an Account Director, Account Manager or similar client-facing commercial role.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to build trust with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in sales development, account growth or business development.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, energetic approach with a “can-do” attitude and strong commercial mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
