About the Role
Inc. Consulting is pleased to be partnering with a values-led organisation to recruit an Interim Project Accountant / Finance Analyst to join their finance team.
This role will support a wide range of projects across the organisation, providing high-quality financial analysis, reporting and insight to support service delivery, new bids and strategic decision-making. The position is well suited to candidates with Project Accounting or Commercial Accounting experience, or Assistant Management Accountants looking to take the next step into a more project- and business-facing role
Role Responsibilities.
- Assist with service costing and financial analysis for contract bids, including viability and risk assessment.
- Undertake project-based finance work to support decision-making and process improvement.
- Prepare financial returns for internal stakeholders, funders and external bodies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Develop and maintain financial models, management account tools and costing models.
- Produce monthly journals, recharges and payroll reconciliations for month-end reporting.
- Analyse financial data and produce dashboards and reports for senior management.
- Maintain and improve financial reporting structures within finance systems.
- Work closely with the FP&A Manager, Head of Finance and wider stakeholders on system and process improvement projects.
- Support non-finance colleagues by presenting financial information in a clear and accessible way.
- Provide cover for other members of the finance team where required.
Person Specification.
- Part-qualified accountant or equivalent experience within a finance function.
Background in Project Accounting, Commercial Accounting, or Management Accounts, with a desire to broaden commercial exposure. - Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience preparing financial information for internal and external stakeholders.
- Good Excel skills, with experience in financial modelling and data analysis (Power BI experience advantageous).
- Ability to analyse, interpret and clearly explain complex financial information.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Proactive, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Available to start at short notice.
