About the Role

Inc. Consulting is excited to partner with a PE-backed organisation, celebrated for its collaborative culture. We are recruiting a  Financial Controller for a senior, hands-on position based in Sheffield. This pivotal role involves leading the Group’s finance functions, collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer, and influencing how finance supports the wider organisation.

 

Role Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and develop the finance team.
  • Oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate consolidated balance sheets and management accounts.
  • Implement and monitor robust financial controls and procedures for business operations.
  • Manage group cashflow, optimising cash collections and improving visibility of accounts payable.
  • Ensure balance sheet integrity through robust reconciliation and review processes.
  • Support M&A integration processes, ensuring acquisition accounting is accurately reflected.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements across all financial operations.
  • Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process.
  • Drive process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Provide insightful finance advice to support strategic decision-making.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and collaborate on group projects and reporting.

 

Person Specification
• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with excellent attention to detail.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
• Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
• Experienced in leading, developing, and mentoring finance teams.
• Process and systems improvement-focused.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels, including senior leadership and board members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
