Job Description

In this newly created role, you will play a key part in growing revenue, expanding reach, and strengthening partnerships. Responsibilities include:

  • Proactively approaching potential customers to drive new sales and expand the customer base.
  • Building strong, ongoing relationships with key stakeholders across your designated accounts.
  • Working collaboratively with Branch Managers, internal sales, and Key Account Management to uncover and develop new opportunities.
  • Growing new accounts, maintaining margin levels, and ensuring profit targets are achieved.
  • Supporting marketing, promotions, networking events, and trade fairs to raise the company’s profile.
  • Identifying new markets, project pipelines, and strategic partnerships with architects, specifiers, and industry contacts.

 

Person Specification

To be successful, you'll bring a confident, proactive approach and strong commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in business development or field‑based sales, ideally within construction, building materials, or related sectors.
  • The ability to convert leads into long‑term revenue opportunities.
  • Strong insight into the construction industry and relevant economic drivers.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage effectively at all levels.
  • A positive, organised, and proactive mindset with strong time‑management skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, a team‑focused approach, and the ability to identify and maximise opportunities.
